I’m happy to announce that we now have contract and waiver templates for sale on the DTU website! They are under the Resources tab, or just click here. While I have offered custom contracts for an hourly rate (and am happy to continue to do so – email me at dogtrainersumbrella.com) these standardized DIY templates are a great value.
There are several contract options, plus a package. You can purchase:
1.Just a waiver. You could use this as is, or add it to your existing contract or replace waiver language you may not be sure about.
2. A contract template for group classes, one-on-one training, or behavior consulting, each of which includes the waiver.
3. A package of the 3 contract templates.
If you want more information about contracts or waivers, I have written about Contracts (here) and Waivers (here) before. Put simply, a Waiver (sometimes called a Release) is a special kind of contract that transfers the risk of injury from you, the dog trainer, to the client.
A waiver can be a stand-alone waiver, or it can be part of a longer contract that has other information in it, like how much they will pay, when they need to pay, etc.
That’s why the templates include a stand-alone waiver and contracts. Each of the contracts includes the waiver language.
Once you download the template, you can adjust it as needed to suit your business, add your logo, etc., and you will be good to go!
